REACHING FOR THE SUN

Reaching for the Sun

-INSPIRATION-

We are often told to shoot for the stars, this painting depicts a man trying to do exactly the same. The broken shackles around the wrists and ankles of the youth indicate newly found freedom and his toned physique offers a tale into the effort that went behind breaking them.

However, as he reaches desperately for the sun, he fails notice that the feathers on his wings seem to be falling. This painting offers a cautionary tale of pushing our limits. The painting was inspired by the myth of Icarus.
